Goldsby Church is seeking a Christ-centered, biblically grounded Lead Pastor who loves God, loves people, and is passionate about making disciples who make disciples. We are looking for a humble shepherd who faithfully preaches and teaches God's Word, develops pastoral staff and church leaders, and equips our congregation to grow in spiritual maturity and live on mission.

Job Description
Position Title
Lead Pastor
Purpose of Position
The Lead Pastor provides spiritual leadership to Goldsby Church by faithfully preaching and teaching God's Word, shepherding God's people, and equipping disciples to make disciples. He leads and develops the pastoral staff, deacons, and church leadership with humility, biblical wisdom, and compassion to cultivate a healthy, Christ-centered church that loves people well and actively serves its communities.
Primary Responsibilities
Preaching and Teaching
· Faithfully preach and teach the Word of God with biblical accuracy, conviction, and compassion.
· Serve as the primary preacher for regular worship services.
· Lead the church in sound doctrine and biblical discipleship.
· Provide spiritual guidance rooted in Scripture and prayer
Spiritual Leadership
· Lead by example in personal holiness, integrity, humility, and servant leadership.
· Serve as the spiritual leader and shepherd of the church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
· Provide biblical vision and direction for the church ministries, mission, and spiritual growth.
Pastoral Care
· Lead and equip the pastoral staff, deacons, church leadership, and congregation to shepherd others and grow toward spiritual maturity.
· Cast a vision for pastoral care that reflects Christ's love within the church and throughout the community.
Leadership and Administration
· Lead, develop, and shepherd the pastoral staff, deacons, and church leadership to cultivate a healthy, Christ-centered church.
· Cast and communicate a biblical vision that fosters spiritual maturity, disciple-making, and a culture of loving and caring for people.
· Provide spiritual oversight of the church while leading in accordance with the church's Constitution, Bylaws, and policies
Missions and Outreach
· Champion a biblical vision for evangelism and missions
· Encourage, support, and partner with the Pastoral Staff & Missions Team in advancing local and global mission opportunities that fulfill the Great Commission.
· Equip and mobilize the church to share the gospel by identifying local opportunities to serve and engage people with the love of Christ.
Qualifications
Biblical Qualifications
The Lead Pastor must meet the biblical qualification for pastors/elders as outlined in:
· Titus1:5-9
· 1 Timothy 3:1-7
Spiritual Qualifications
The Lead Pastor shall:
· Be committed to the authority, sufficiency, and proclamation of the Word of God.
· Be motivated by love, compassion, faith, and a genuine concern for people.
· Be a man of prayer who demonstrates dependence upon God.
· Demonstrate spiritual maturity, moral integrity, and Christlike character.
· Recognize the sacred responsibility and spiritual obligation of being a pastor.
· Possess a clear sense of God’s calling to serve as shepherd of this church under Christ.
· Lead with humility, wisdom, conviction, and servant-hearted leadership.
Doctrinal Qualifications
· Agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
· Support and uphold biblical doctrine and practice consistent with a Southern Baptist Church
· Be ordained by a Baptist church of like faith and order.
Education Qualifications
· Required: Bachelor's degree
· Preferred: Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent from an accredited seminary; Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) or further graduate theological training a plus
Reporting Relationship
The Lead Pastor is accountable to the congregation and shall work in
cooperation with the deacons and church leadership in accordance with the
church constitution and bylaws.
